Dorgan promises hearing on land-into-trust decision

The Senate Indian Affairs Committee will hold a hearing to address the U.S. Supreme Court decision in Carcieri v. Salazar, Sen. Byron Dorgan (D-North Dakota) said.

"We're going to do a hearing on that," Dorgan said at an unrelated hearing today. "I think this has a very substantial impact on a lot of tribes."

Dorgan previously said the committee would hold a hearing on the issue today. He did not say when the new hearing would be scheduled.
