Tribal leaders head to DC for summit with Obama

Over 500 tribal leaders are expected to attend the first ever White House Tribal Nations Conference on Thursday, November 5.
President Barack Obama promised to hold a meeting with tribes every year. He and other administration officials will hear about a wide range of issues, from health care to law enforcement to treaties.
"From what I understand, 90 percent of our tribal leaders are going. We’re looking forward to this historical event," Darrell Flyingman, the governor of the
Cheyenne and Arapaho Tribes, told The Native American Times.
The conference takes place at the
Interior Department. Video will be streamed on the White House website.
